Emtork.....
Electrical Three Phase Actuators for Valves & Dampers.

Applications :

The "Emtork" Electric Actuators are electromechanical units used for operating the final control elements like valves or dampers to control the flow of fluids flowing thru the pipes or ducts. The specific advantages of using these units are:

• Ease of operation
• Remote control facility
• Proportional action of final control element in close loop   system.
• Attaining & holding the desired preset position of the   valve/damper.
• Various indications & alarms are available on the remote control panel & also on the unit.
• Emergency manual operation possible in case of power failure.
• Works on most convenient & easily available source of energy i.e. electricity.
• Models available to cover wide range of valves & dampers.

Design :

The basic design of the Emtork Electric Actuator consists of an electric motor used as a prime mover and a gear box to reduce the speed & to increase the torque at the output end.
Various models have been developed to suit specific types of valves/dampers,process parameters, duty conditions etc. howeverthese have been developed on "Building block principle" by keeping the basic design common.
The basic actuator model i.e.'M0' and "M1" are the rotary models with an output torque of 8 kgm & 20 kgm respectively at various output speeds. For more output torque in rotary models, supplementary spur gearboxes are coupled to the basicactuators to make the models as M0/SG OR M1/SG.
For Quarterturn applications, the output speed of the basic M0& M1 models is reduced to 1 or 2 RPM. For higher torque ratings supplementary worm gear boxes are coupled to the basic actuators to ma e t e I models as M0/WG or M1 IWG.
For TMO / WG or TM l / WG models, foot mounting bracket & linkages are provided to make them suitable for damper operations.
The Linear actuators viz LM1& LM1 are developed by converting rotory movement into a linear one.
All the above models are available in Flame Proof Explosion proof versions, duly approved by CMRS Dhanbad for Gas Groups I, IIA, IIB & IIC, as per FS-2148.
All the above models are available for ON/OFF and Regulating duty applications.

Details of features of actuators

Drive Motor
Emtork actuator are equipped with three phase, squirrel cage induction motor having high starting torque, These motors comply with IS-325 specifications.

Supplycondition........................... 415 VAC, 3ph
Enclosure..................................... TEFC
Class of insulation....................... Std.'F'
Class of protection...................... IP55 / IP67
Duty............................................ Std. S1 / Optional S2 or S4

Travel limit switches
These switches are provided to cut off the actuator supply at the end of the preset travel in either direction. These switches are operated by cams which can be reset at site.

Torque limit switches
These switches cut off the actuator supply in case the torque developed in the system is more than the desired preset value, in eitherdirection.
Every actuator is calibrated in the factory for the operating range of output torque by measuring it on the dynamometer. The reqd. operating torque can be reset at site by referring to the calibration chart fixed inside the cover of each unit.

Local indicator
A continuous type local position indicator is provided on the actuator to show the actual mechanical position of the final control element. As this works on gear mechanism it gives the indication irrespective of hand or electrical operation.

Handwheel with motor over-riding feature
Emtork actuator is provided with a handwheel for emergency manual operation. The selector fork lever when put on to 'Hand-position', disconnects the motor drive. When the motor is switched on, the hand wheel connection gets disenaaaed automatically.

Protection
The Emtork actuators are supplied with IP55/IP65/IP67/IP68 class of protection as per IS-4691 & IS2147 duly certified by CIL Banglore.

Output Shaft Designs
The basic rotary actuators are supplied with output shaft couplings types A,C,D, Easper DIN 3210. Similer output couplings can be given at the output end of the supplementary spur gear boxes. For supplementary worm gear boxes the output coupling will normally be type'E'.

Hammer Blow Effect
Sometimes it is necessary to provide a considerably higher starting torque to clear jammed valves. This is done by providing hammer blow effect which is an inbuilt feature of the 'Emtork' actuator and is achieved thru "Lost motion principle"

Feed back Potentiometer / Transmitter
A feed back signal, in terms of change in resistance or current proportional to the valve position, is available thru potentiometer or transmitter.

Remote indicators
The signal coming from potentiometer is converted thru stabilised power source and read by Analogue/Digital/ Bar graph meters.

Space heater
An anti-condensation heater can be provided in the switching compartment while using the actuator in humid/damp environment.

Brake
Electromagnetic brake can be provided on the motor to stop the actuator instantly

Control Panels
Various types of control panels can be provided for local, remote and combined local + remote operations of the actuator.

Positioner
Panel Actvator mounted Electronic Positioner can be supplied which can accept a control command of 420 MA and position the final control element accordingly, 4-20 MA feed back signal is also available from the Positioner.
